Martin Stautner is the owner and director of Solid Stone Constructions.

Martin has always had a passion for both design and construction with stone.

‘I love what I do. I feel humbled by the timeless effect that stone work can bring to both myself and my clients’.

‘I love the natural world, stone-geology- is the key to how landscapes are formed, and how vegetation patterns evolve. Stone can be hard and or  soft, hot and cold, smooth or rough. The opportunity to work with stone, to move stone into place, to assemble stone, balance stone, shape stone is such an honor, I thank all my clients for the opportunity they give me to explore this wonderful medium.’

Martin’s extensive passion and experience in gardening has been a positive compliment to his stonework. Martin has horticulture and permaculture qualifications and a thorough knowledge of Australian native plants.

Martin  spent 2011 working in Switzerland for Bachler + Guttingerag, a large and well established company specialising in high quality landscape construction. Martin was employed as a Foreman specialising in stonework. Martin feels his work experience as well as the time traveling through Europe has further heightened his skills and his personal expectations.

Martin regularly travels to Europe, meeting masons, attending workshops and conferences.
